Issued to US Naval Aviation and key units in every branch of the Armed Services, the M11 is proud to serve. Upgraded with a stainless steel slide, a Short Reset Trigger and 15 round flush fit magazines, the M11-A1 variant features the same phosphate coated internals, SIGLITE® night sights and MIL-STD UID label of the standard-issue M11.
Put 1100 rounds thru this pistol and not 1 failure of any kind. Easy to field strip and added a Crimson Trace laser for a nice package.
When I first got this gun it had some problems extracting.... apparently a common problem with this particular extractor setup at Sig because my 229 had a similar issues. This gun was sent back to Sig. Customer service was great. Paid for shipping both ways and it has since been 100% flawless. Never failed to fire and feeds every type of cheap fmj ammo imaginable. Good gun.
The SIG M11a1 is a great pistol. As a long time SIG owner my favorite model has always been the P226, of which I have three. The P226 is a little large for concealed carry, so I bought the M11a1 and it's been a dream to carry and shoot. Don't be mistaken by the name, a true M11 is a P228, whereas the M11a1 is a 9mm P229 with grips that say, P228 on them. This doesn't mean it's not a great gun, in fact some of the features are better than the real M11. Just don't buy it thinking it's something that it's not.
Recently I got the Semi-Auto pistol bug and really started looking at whats on the market, which is a lot! Found I really like the quality and value of Sig Sauer its in the Kimber, H&K and FN quality, and I wanted a 9mm that was better than my Browning Hi-Power. Checked out the P226, and its nice, but a bit big. Then felt a P229 shorter barrel, and finally the M11-A1. Wow, the balance is awesome! Shooting this pistol is a dream, very smooth. Low recoil, fast target reacquisition, great trigger in SA & DA, amazingly well made. Comes with 3 magazines, night sights standard. No faults so far, just great pistol.
