Celebrate American Heritage With Marlin .22 Rifles

The .22 Long Rifle cartridge is the most popular ammunition in the world. However, they're mostly used for practice weapons. It's a round that's cheap, produces minimal recoil, and is great at short distances - perfect for ranges.

Rifles like our Marlin Model 60 were used for marksmanship training for law enforcement officers, as well as pest control. They weren't used on patrols the way our Glock police trade-ins were. That means that despite being used guns, Marlin .22 rifles have been well-maintained and rarely used outside of a shooting range.

If you want something of a higher caliber, Marlin Firearms manufactures a wide variety of other rifles. From the classic lever-action Marlin 45-70 to their .30-30 Winchester rifles, there's a Marlin for everyone.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are Marlin .22 rifles good?

Marlin's rifles chambered for .22LR are good, but only for their intended use. For training, plinking, and taking down small game and pests, the .22LR is the perfect caliber. It's small and lightweight, shoots quietly, produces very little recoil, and is incredibly accurate at short range. However, it doesn't have the stopping power or size of larger caliber cartridges, so it isn't as effective against big game like elk and deer.

What are the differences between the Marlin 60 and Glenfield 60?

Marlin designs both and is mechanically identical. However, since Glenfield is technically Marlin's economy line, they have a few minor differences. The Glenfield has different trim options and optional accessories, such as optics and sling mounts. They also had different butt plates and used lower-grade wood for the stock.

Can I have my Marlin .22 rifle delivered to my house?

Unfortunately, your new .22LR Marlin must be delivered to an FFL dealer. We cannot ship firearms directly to homes. Contact your local FFL dealer to ask if they can accept the delivery. The dealer may charge fees for pickup orders like this, so ask them about any extra charges before ordering from Sportsman's Outdoor Superstore.
