Henry Repeating Arms is a company dedicated to celebrating and preserving the heritage of American firearms. There is no better example than the Henry Big Boy firearms, featuring both gorgeous craftsmanship and the legendary .357 Magnum caliber. Explore the collection of Henry lever-action .357 Magnum rifles, single-shot rifles, and revolvers at Sportsman's Outdoor Superstore.
With their name an homage to the inventor of the repeating rifle, Benjamin Tyler Henry, it should be no surprise that their guns share almost the same construction as classic 1860s rifles and handguns. We're honored to be able to offer them here for both gun collectors and hunters who need a simple gun with a tried-and-true design.
But Henry .357 guns are more than just their looks. The .357 Magnum was once one of the most powerful handgun cartridges in the nation. With our Big Boy revolvers, you get all that power in a small package. Our Henry lever-action .357 Magnum rifles, on the other hand, give you more control over your weapon without compromising on firepower.
Whether you're looking for a lever-action rifle or a quality revolver, you can find it here at Sportsman's Outdoor Superstore!

Yes, Henry rifles chambered for .357 Magnum are great for taking down deer. This caliber was considered one of the best hunting cartridges in the 1940s. Even though it's no longer nearly as popular in the 21st century, that doesn't mean it isn't effective. In addition to deer, Henry lever-action .357 Magnum rifles can be used to take down elk, moose, and even bears.
Lever-action rifles have a lot of benefits over alternatives. Because of their limited round capacity, ineffectiveness at long range, and manual action, they're not legally scrutinized as much as more modern firearms during hunting season. Chambering the next round is efficient (and satisfying). They're generally very accurate and easy to control. And, most importantly, they just look great.
Henry Big Boy rifles hold up to 10 rounds, while carbines can hold up to seven. It should go without saying that single-shot rifles only hold one. The revolvers are classic six-shooters.
There are two main kinds of revolvers: single-action and double-action revolvers.
With a single-action revolver, pulling the trigger only advances the cylinder (ergo, "single" action). You have to pull the hammer back before every shot. While this makes for a more accurate gun, it doesn't shoot very fast.
With a double-action gun, pulling the trigger advances the cylinder and pulls the hammer back. All you need to do is pull the trigger until you run out of bullets. While this makes follow-up shots easy, the trigger pull weight is extremely heavy. The effort to shoot can be enough to destabilize your gun and make it less accurate. Double-action revolvers are better in close-quarters engagement, where speed is more important than accuracy.

If you prefer shooting revolvers over semi-auto handguns, DA revolvers make great CCWs. The trigger resistance inherent to the gun's design prevents accidental discharges in the holster or pocket, and the rapid follow-up shots make it very effective for close-range self-defense. For a reason, these pistols were service weapons for law enforcement for decades.
Each of these handguns has its pros and cons. SA firearms have a slower fire rate but a much lighter trigger pull. The ease of pulling the trigger and stopping to pull the hammer back, forcing you to re-sight on your target after each shot, improves accuracy. However, DA's relatively rapid rate of fire makes it invaluable in close-range scenarios. While its trigger pull weight is much heavier, that weight prevents accidental discharges. Which one is better depends on your needs.
Unfortunately, all firearm orders need to be sent to your local FFL dealer. You can pick it up from them after it's successfully delivered.
