Personalize Your Concealed Carry

Colored guns are a great way to make your carry pistol your own. You are more likely to carry a gun that is aesthetically pleasing to you than one that only performs.

Straight out of the factory, all guns of the same or similar models look the same. Having colored firearms helps with things like identifying your property if it is lost or stolen, or sitting on a table at the range with your friend's guns. Having some color is also a relatively simple way to give your firearm some style and show off your personal tastes.

More Than Just Handguns

While most colored firearms are pistols, every firearm can have custom or semi-custom paint jobs and finishes.

While all handguns are pistols, not all pistols look like traditional handguns. Some examples, like AR-15 and AK pistols, look similar to some rifle variants.

These options are designed to meet the National Firearms Act's definition of a pistol and, when combined with a brace, can help shooters with disabilities fire rifle calibers with one hand.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are there any Benefits from having colored guns?

Beyond personal aesthetics, there are a few reasons to have colored firearms. Very often, the firearm is painted using some form of cerakote, which can help prevent rust, corrosion, and scratches to the finish and materials of the firearm.

Having a "non-standard" color for a handgun can help with concealed carry by breaking up the pistol's recognizable shape. This can help prevent people from panicking if they accidentally see your concealed carry by leaving them confused as to whether or not they saw a pistol.

Are there any legal concerns about colored guns?

Generally, no. As long as the firearm is clearly a real firearm, there should not be any problems related to or implied about the overall paint scheme of the firearm. Other individuals may take offense at the gun's color, but this does not affect the gun's legality.

Can I change the color of my gun?

Yes. Changing the color of your legally owned firearm is well within your legal rights. You can do this by swapping parts or even finding someone who can hydrodip firearms.
