Formerly known as an "1895 GBL" (Guide Big Loop), this model is Ruger's first reintroduction in the Guide Gun family of rifles and Ruger's first introduction of an alloy steel Marlin rifle with a blued finish.
Purchased this rifle in 2024 after always wanting one for years. I was hesitant since I heard the Remington made Marlins had problems, but Ruger did a great job bringing it back. Fit and finish is great, really stout rifle. Sighted mine in for a 100 yard zero and very close to 1 in groups using Hornady LeverEvolution ammo. It’s been great for blind and tree stand hunting with it being so short. Great deer rifle and hoping to try it out black bear hunting this fall. Definitely recommend.
