Took the M4 out to the range and put a couple hundred rounds through it. The shot is smooth and the brass ejects about the 3-4 o clock - classic military setup. However the cosmetics in some areas are crap. The muzzle device weld is very sloppy, one of the trigger guard pins is damaged, Daniel Defense does the gas key staking much better. The castle nut staking is barely even visible, and there are a bunch of abrasions to the finish, not straight scratches to the metal but still unsightly. Again, these are more cosmetic issues - which in the end are not the most important. But at this price, I would expect much better quality control but I guess we are talking about Colt here!. Just for perspective, a Daniel Defense M4A1 is $300 more than this model and is MILES above in quality. Everything I've mentioned, and much more, is way nicer and consistent.
