This is a fun rifle to shoot. Purchased a Primary Arms sight and out of the box it was already zero’d in. I purchased a couple of different 762 brass and had issues with the one, but after field stripping and another trip to the range it worked out the issues and worked flawlessly. I purchased a few firearms the past couple of months and I am very satisfied with Sportsmans customer service. Especially during these times. No issues shipping to FFL and they responded to questions that I have had.
I bought a used Windham weaponry 5.56 cal. rifle from a neighbor whose husband passed away. Turns out I really liked it and wanted a heavier caliber rifle. Finally came across this rifle at what I thought was a reasonable still do price. Turns out I liked this rifle even better. Paired it with a moderately priced scope and I am very happy with it. I dont think you can go wrong with Windham Weaponry rifles.
I have put about 2K rounds through this rifle. Started with a Sig red dot and moved to a vortex 1X6. Used Wolf, bear, winchester white box ammo and it loves it all. Mags had to be broken in a bit but performance is impeccable. The range I frequent has 50, 100 & 200 targets and I have tight groups on all 3. Definitely my GOTO gun when the need arises.
Rock and roll! Man this thing chews through the cheapest steel ammo like a champ and puts it right on target. It has a lot more energy than your standard AR, so you better put a decent scope on it and not some $50 cheap piece of junk meant for a pellet gun. The only thing I don't like about this set up is the 30 round mag; makes it heavy, and even more noticeable was putting it in every shooting rest I could find, the 30 round mag was too long. Way better with a 10 or 5 round mag. So unless you shoot like Haji get a 10-5 rnd mag.
I put about 250 rounds in 2 outings through this AR. 1 groups at 50 yards that open up to about 3 at 100 yards with Wolf and Tula. I think this rifle is superb. I will be ecstatic if Windham ever makes a version with a medium contour barrel and mid length gas system.
Sportsman's has the best price, and the rifle was at the FFL in three days. Rifle was as advertised, and arrived in perfect condition. It did NOT come with scratches or cosmetic defects which I have seen on new ARs by other manufacturers. The rifle has a great finish and everything is tight.
Fired 280 rounds of steel-cased ammo with no malfunctions. No parts are marked MP but I never felt that it was important. BCG resembles the full-auto type. I don't like the magazine that came with the rifle, but I have some C products that are great. The supplied magazine will not snap into the gun with 30 rounds in it, the follower is definitely not anti-tilt, and it is the ugliest mag I have ever seen. So ugly, I won't use it.
