Ruger is proud to introduce the new Ruger LCP II. Since its original introduction in 2008, the LCP has set the industry standard for compact, reliable .380 Auto pistols. Rather than rest on that accomplishment, Ruger has built upon that solid performance to produce the new, best-in-class LCP II pistol.
The LCP II features a short, crisp, single-action trigger with inner trigger safety, improved sights for superior visibility, a larger grip surface for better distribution of recoil forces and an easy-to-rack slide with an improved slide stop mechanism with a last round hold-open.
With its compact size (just 5.17" long and 3.71" tall), this new lightweight compact pistol comes with a pocket holster and is designed to fit a variety of holsters and concealed carry options. Weighing in at just 10.6 ounces and equipped to hold 6+1 rounds of powerful .380 Auto ammunition, the LCP II is the ideal back-up gun - compact and light enough that you never have to leave it at home.
The American-made LCP II is built on a rigid, one-piece, precision-machined, anodized aluminum chassis with integral frame rails and fire control housing. Additional features include rugged construction with a through-hardened alloy steel slide; a black, one-piece, high-performance, glass-filled nylon grip frame; a textured grip frame to provide a secure and comfortable grip; a finger grip extension floorplate that can be added to the magazine for comfort and more secure grip, and a blued, alloy steel barrel. The LCP II ships with one 6-round magazine.
Note: Six-round LCP® magazines are compatible with the LCP® II, but will not activate the last round hold-open feature of the LCP® II. Seven-round LCP® magazines are NOT compatible with the LCP® II.
Placed order during the tail end of Cyber Monday sale on 11/27/2018, received 12/06/18 10 calendar days. I would have received sooner had it not been for the difficulty communicating my local FFL dealer after I had placed the order. They hold for 7 days while you decide where to ship. On my order form, they asked for my name, a shipping address, phone number, etc., not realizing they were asking for the shipping address of the FFL dealer, not mine. I notified them of my choice of FFL the day after placing the order with my order number and FFL info via the Leave Us A Message link on their web page, since I couldn't find where to add that info on their page another way. I wasn't too confident about this process, so filled out the form on the Contact Us link on the second day after placing my order with all the pertinent info. No response. I called and left a verbal message with my order number and phone on the third day. No response. Fourth day, I called just after they opened and talked with an employee responsible for transfers. I let her know that I had provided FFL info and wondered about the status. She could locate my order using my name but did not have any of the info I provided about the FFL in the other 3 ways. I gave my FFL info to her verbally at that time, and my order was processed quickly with an emailed receipt, followed by a preparing for shipment the next day. A bit clumsy on both ends but we got it done.
Received Ruger LCP II pistol in its cardboard box, no hard or soft case, a cable with lock and keys, red chamber flag, one magazine with extended pinky base plate already attached along with one flat base plate not attached, instruction manual, pocket holster that fits the pistol pretty tightly but doesn't really stick to the inside of a pocket, and several advertisements. Overall quite pleased and will not hesitate to purchase from them again.
This little pistol is great. The trigger is not bad and it shoots to point of aim, no sight adjustment. Only complaint, it should come with the extended mag. I had to buy extra. Then you can put 3 fingers on the gun!
Put 100 rounds through the gun so far. FLAWLESS! Great Shooter, Extremely surprised at the accuracy of this little gun! a lot of the groups had the holes touching. Great Crisp Trigger. Ruger is on to something with this little 380. love it!
I ordered this firearm on Saturday 8/4 & it came in on 8/9. Great Service!
Finally found something to carry easily everywhere. Was a bit skeptical about the 380 but after shooting it I'm sure wouldn't wanna get hit with it. A 380 on your person is better than your 45 acp left at home in the night stand.
Excellent pistol, great price, fast delivery. love my everyday carry.
Great gun. Trouble free. Perfect for CCW. Impressed with accuracy.
The sights on this gun are about the worst I've ever had. Good thing Its a close in pocket gun. Mine tends to jam about every 10-15 rounds. I may sell it and go back to my Colt Mustang.
Great bang for the buck.
The first 100 rounds I had a lot of malfunctions as the firearm was getting burned in. After 200 rounds the firearm runs like a champ, not a single issue. I've gone through 800 rounds with not a single malfunction.
I usually carry an M&P Shield 9mm, but for those days where its hot out and I'm just wearing athletic clothing I wanted to carry something a bit smaller. After reading reviews on the LCP 2 I decided to give it a try. NO COMPLAINTS! It's a great gun for what it was designed to accomplish. Some people don't like the fixed sight but I have no intentions of changing them out anyway. I think of it as a gun that will only be drawn if I'm within 10 ft of my target. I'm not expecting to hit a bulls-eye at the range, just get it on the silhouette. My only complaint isn't with the gun, but with the ammo. For its size .380 is a decent round but its quite pricey for what it is. Almost the same cost as 45 ACP which doesn't make any sense to me. I understand supply and demand but I hope one day soon it drops to the price of 9mm or lower. I've only shot Winchester ammo through it so far and no problems. I definitely feel comfortable using this as a back gun or something to take while I'm out for a short time.
Yes it is. The only reason I give this a 4 is because when it's in your pocket holstered, it can sometimes hit the mag release button. Other than that, this is the PERFECT pocket gun.
I have all three of the LCPs. My daughter wanted another carry pistol, so we took the original Ruger LCP, the second red trigger version, the LCP II, and the S&W Bodyguard to the range right after Christmas. We fired a number of rotations giving each one several opportunities to impress. I stopped carrying the original LCP because of the lack of a last round hold open and the crummy sights, and went to the Bodyguard. After firing all four guns, we both agreed the LCP II is a real winner all around. The big pluses are the much lighter trigger, sights, and last round hold open. I am getting another LCP II as soon as they are available and selling the other two LCPs. She took mine.
This is by FAR the best pocket pistol out there!!! At 7 yrds, I'm shooting silver dollar size groupings continuously, with maybe only one flyer every now and then. I've even posted YouTube videos on its accuracy. For the price, you can't beat it!
Just got this nice LCP II today and went to the range to try it out. I must say Ruger has a winner here. It performed quite well. The trigger was so much nicer that my original LCP...which I sold a couple days ago. The only quirk that I noticed was I had to push the mag release in slightly to completely load a clip. This was the same on all three of my Ruger LCP II clips. No big deal though. This was my first purchase from Sportmans Outdoor Superstore and I could not be more pleased. I highly recommend them.
My original LCP is a very good gun but the II is great. Much improved is the slide, trigger, sights, grip and did I mention TRIGGER! Ruger has done their homework. I'm not one to recommend things, but this I will definitely recommend.
I bought the Ruger LCP II during the Black Friday Deal, and am very happy with the firearm. I own an original LCP, but wanted to upgrade to the LCP II, due to the great reviews and additional features: grips and easier slide racking. My wife had a hard time racking the slide of the original, the slide back on the last round, and the aggressive serrations that make it easier to rack the slide.
Shopping experience:
The firearm was easy to order, arrived quickly, and was in fantastic condition. No scratches, no issues. The product arrived as advertised- I would certainly order from Sportsmans Outdoor Superstore again.
Firearm Performance:
I cleaned the gun well and took it to the range. I fired 100 Winchester 95 grain FMJ rounds without issues. No jams, no FTE, nothing. At 5 yards, it was exceptionally accurate, and at 7 yards it was on target. I am not the best shot, as I have poor vision, but was able to shoot it better than my original LCP. The sights are low profile, but are slightly higher than the non-existent sights on the original LCP. The recoil is still a little rough, but manageable.
Overall Impressions:
I feel very comfortable making this little pocket pistol my daily carry once I put another 100 rounds through its break-in period. I highly recommend this little pocket pistol.
Ordered on a Wednesday picked up from my FFL on a Tuesday. $325 after the Tax and FFL Fee. Have not shot this bad boy yet, but I love how it can fit into any pocket! It is so portable. It is smaller than my Iphone 7 plus!!!! I cannot wait to get out to the range. It is a very good looking gun compared to the original. If you are looking for a new little friend who fits anywhere, this is your new best bud!!
