The centerfire single-shot rifle features a matte finish with a steel frame. It also features a 22" round barrel, with adjustable buckhorn and brass bead sights and is drilled/tapped for optional scope use. The stock is constructed of walnut, with a curved pistol grip wrist and a straight English wrist and brass buttplate. The action has no external manual safety; it uses a rebounding hammer that can't touch the firing pin unless the trigger's deliberately pulled, and an interlock system that doesn't allow the barrel to open if the hammer's cocked, or the barrel to close if the hammer's cocked while it's open.
I previously had a synthetic stock .45-70 single with an additional recoil pad. A box of 400-grain shells left my shoulder black and blue for a month. THIS gun is wonderful. Solid, beautifully finished, and with a painless yet noticeable recoil.
Incredibly accurate with open sights at 100 yards. The brass receiver really adds some class to this rifle. One of my favorite guns to shoot!
