The classic rimfire pistol has evolved. The contemporary, tactical style of the P22, now featuring a captured recoil spring and decocker built into the safety, lends to the overall appeal of this accurate, easy-to-operate and fun to shoot .22 rimfire handgun. Make no mistake about it, whether you are shooting for fun or defense, the P22 is all business for shooters of all ages.

The P22 changed everything. Walther adapted the tactical styling and Performance Design concepts from their centerfire handguns and applied them to the .22 L.R. This created a new movement in the design of contemporary rimfire handguns … and an explosion of imitators. As a stylish, fun gun to own, the P22 is at home on the shooting range, around the camp or in a museum of modern art.

(5 out of 5) Could not be happier!
by from Statesville, NC on

Was trying to decide on a .22 Pistol, saw this on sale and after watching some videos I ordered from here. 2 days delivered to my FFL. 850 rounds thru without an issue. 550 if those were Federal Bulk 36 grain hollow point. Yea I got a winner, thanks Sportsman's Outdoor Superstore and thanks Walther!

(5 out of 5) Great Pistol Great Service
by from Statesville, NC on

I have been reviewing and debating on 22LR pistols for several months. Had decided on a Ruger SR22 until I saw this deal. Did more research and happy I did. After watching a video for Plinkster 22 on the new and improved P22 I said what the heck with their warranty I have not much to lose. Ordered on Monday picked up at my FFL on Thursday, and this morning ran 150 rounds thru without any issues. I started with 20 rounds of Winchester Super X 40 grain, perfect. Next 20 rounds of CCI 36 grain hollow point and again no issues. Next bulk Federal 36 grain hollow point, NO ISSUES. I continued even mixing all three in magazines until I ran 150 thru without issues. I will say I think the 40 grain was a touch better on accuracy but not much different at all. I wanted something I could plink and target shoot with a lot, well I found it, 550 rounds of bulk less than $20. I have found what I wanted and would buy it again. Great service great price. Won’t hesitate to order from them again!

(5 out of 5) Nice Little Plinker

Would work great for teaching fundamentals to new shooters. Picked it up, put a couple of drops of oil on the rails and proceeded to put 250 rounds of various CCI ammos. Worked great, had no issues. Another great transaction through SOSS.

(3 out of 5) Walther P22Q
by from Moundridge, kansas on

I purchased the P22Q due to the great sale price. I figured it would be a nice compliment to my Ruger SR22. I am actually disappointed in this firearm. I had high expectations due to the positive reviews that I read.

So the pros. It is light and compact. The grip is comfortable. It does have a threaded barrel it does require an adapter to be purchased, about $60.

The cons. The safety is awkward and gritty, not as smooth as I would expect. I had a bit of trouble releasing the safety numerous times. The trigger is not great. The double action is not smooth and hard to tell when it will break. Single action is better with a short take up, but breaks way back by the frame. Like the trigger on the Taurus PT111. It is workable, just not great. Finally, it is ammo sensitive. It does not like American Eagle. I had a 50% failure to eject with American Eagle. It did fine with Winchester and Armscor.

Overall I expected better. In my opinion the Ruger SR22 is better.

Most people I know compare this to the ruger sr22, but I honestly think it is much better made gun. Which is saying a lot because the sr22 is worth every penny it costs, yet this still comes out on top. If given the choice get both lol
