This Ruger American Pistol Compact is chambered in 45 ACP and has no manual safety. Originally introduced in December 2015, the feature-rich Ruger American Pistol was designed with the latest U.S. Military standards in mind and was tested in the harshest environments to ensure the rugged reliability consumers have come to expect from Ruger.
With a 3.75" barrel, overall dimensions of 7.25" long, 4.65" high and a weight of 28.6 ounces with an empty magazine, the Ruger American Pistol Compact model shares all of the features and rugged reliability of the duty-size gun in a smaller, lighter, more concealable package. It ships in a hard case with medium and large replaceable grip modules and two nickel-Teflon® plated steel magazines (one 10-round extended magazine and one 7-round compact magazine).
The American-made Ruger American Pistol is built on a rigid, one-piece, precision-machined, black nitrided, stainless steel chassis with integral frame rails and fire control housing. Additional features include genuine Novak® LoMount Carry three-dot sights, a stainless steel slide with non-reflective, black nitride finish, a one-piece, high-performance, glass-filled nylon grip frame and a mil-standard 1913 accessory rail.
Bought this pistol on sale for $349.00 and received it pretty quickly free shipping option. It's not as heavy as I thought it would be from other reviews on other sites. Feels about the same as my XD9 Mod.2 Subcompact. Finally found some time for the range today and fired 100 rounds through it. This is my first time firing a 45 caliber pistol and I could hardly notice any more recoil than a 9mm. It is accurate and did not have any malfunctions while firing it. Definitely a steal for this price!!!!!!!!!
This has become my EDC. I've run about 500 rounds through it with no problems. 160 hollow points a mix of 230 gr and 185 gr and over 300 FMJ brass and aluminum case 230 gr mixed. It is very accurate and the recoil is pleasant to shoot. A friend compared it size wise to his Glock 19 and it is pretty much the same size and weight the Ruger is just a hair heavier. Overall, I am very pleased with the Ruger and would recommend it. I also own a full size in 45 and would recommend it also.
Great EDC with proper belt and holster; very comfortable. I'm using a Wright Leather Works Crossdraw. I have fired about 200 rounds of hollow point through it Remington GS +P. Hornady 185 gr and Magtech 230 gr. Very accurate and pleasant to shoot, even with the +P ammo.
I got the Ruger American Compact 45 ACP and picked it at my FFL dealer, and at the same time I shoot 150 rounds through it with no problems and no jamming. Right out of the box the gun functioned perfect, like all of the rest of my Rugers. I own 8. I just wish that the shipping would have been a bit quicker, otherwise everything went smooth.
Waited a long time for a Ruger compact 45. This gun is AWESOME, and I would put it up against any offerings in the market today....!!!
