The introduction of the brand new Beretta APX 40S&W Law Enforcement Model with Night Sights makes Beretta one of the few manufacturers to offer full size polymer and metallic framed handguns in both hammer and striker fired operating systems. Designed specifically for military and law enforcement operators, the APX striker-fired pistol has been put through extensive testing and evaluation at the professional end user level.

The result is a pistol that delivers superior performance in durability and reliability, ergonomics, trigger, and modularity.

Utilizing a removable, serialized chassis frame, the Beretta APX can be easily modified with replaceable grip frame housings and is simple to disassemble and maintain. Each pistol comes with 3 interchangeable back straps so users can best fit their hands and preferences. The APX’s aggressive full length slide serrations make slide manipulations easy under any conditions.

To accommodate right or left-handed use, the magazine release button can be easily reversed, and the slide stop is ambidextrous.

The trigger breaks at 6lbs and has a clear tactile and audible very short reset.

Modularity

The unique modular chassis system on the APX allows replacement, reconfiguration, size tailoring, including:

(5 out of 5) Extremely nice pistol as an alternative to Glock!
by from Mukilteo, WA on

Took pistol to the range today-ran flawlessly as expected with zero failures or issues of any kind. Tested for zero and accuracy first - off hand, supported over a range bag at 10yds; pistol put 3 rounds into a 1 hotspot with boring regularity. Next, tested for off hand feel and defensive performance on a silhouette target at 7yds. Ammo used was .40 S&W, 165grn Winchester white box from Walmart, nothing special. Used the large backstrap as the width of the pistol from front to back is a little thin for my liking and it doesn't give you a whole lot of area to position your support hand. The large seemed to work the best for both my wife and I with my medium/large hands. Precision was spot on to point of aim and was easily repeatable from shot to shot. Three dot tritium night sights worked very well and the trigger was much better than any stock Glock pistol I own. One strange thing that I observed was the that this pistol really preferred a light, easy presentation and hold as opposed to really going tactical on it. The harder I tried to force my grip and sight picture to be perfect, the more my shots would open up. When I would relax, grip, present and press the shot with a flash sight picture without trying to overthink it or force it to be perfect-I was rewarded with all shots going through the same ragged hole. Seems to like a more relaxed, less aggressive shooting style to being man handled. The pistol shot and stayed very vertical in its recoil impulse and was a pussycat for a .40! VERY light recoil for .40 caliber and was incredibly flat shooting and easy to control! Having shot most of my other .40 S&W pistols, my wife commented that if she had shot this pistol prior to shooting the rest of them, she probably wouldn't mind shooting/owning a .40 of her own, as all of the others I have recoil much more and are much more flippy than this one.
