A am a big fan of the 1911 platform and have been for years. However, living in a warmer climate, sometimes it is difficult to conceal a larger 1911 pistol. I have two friends that own Micro 9s and really like them. After a couple of range sessions with their Micro 9s, I decided to get one of my own. When I started researching prices, SOSS had the best deal on the Micro 9s. After the pistol arrived I took it home and have it a good cleaning / lubrication. My first range session involved 200 rounds of ball ammunition, followed by 50 rounds of hollow points. The gun was surprisingly accurate and performed without a hitch. After a good cleaning / lubrication I went back to the range for another session. Once again, I used a mixture of ball and hollow point ammunition. I fired about 120 rounds and the pistol preformed without a hitch. The sights on this Micro 9 are great. The fiber optic front sight really stands out and allows you to pick up your target quickly. The trigger on the pistol is very smooth. Recoil is quite manageable - although I have not fired any +P ammunition through the pistol yet. My only word of caution would be for someone not used to a pistol with a manual safety. I would suggest spending some training time with your holster and pistol. Practice drawing, disengaging the manual safety and dry firing your unloaded Micro 9. If you are used to shooting a striker fired pistol like a Glock the extra step to disengage your manual safety on the Micro 9 is something you should train for. All in all, a great little pistol at a good price.
