The Ruger American rifle is a 100% American made firearm that offers outstanding performance, at a great price. The patented pending Power Bedding Integral Bedding Blocks ensure outstanding accuracy, while the Ruger Marksman Adjustable Trigger is user adjustable for a crisp 3-5lb trigger pull.
When I opened the box, it was very impressive. Looked good, felt good and built better than expected. Before mounting the scope I wanted to fire the rifle. The compensator did its job well. Little to no recoil. I would compare the recoil to my AR15 in 7.62x39. Sweet shooting rifle!
I just received my Ruger American Go Wild in 300 Win mag. I've not mounted my scope yet but here's my review.
Out of the box, it's a little heavy with the 24 inch barrel. It looks very impressive and after inserting the bolt, I couldn't believe how smooth the bolt worked. The trigger breaks crisp, has a little travel but still feels great.
Like I said, I've not mounted my scope but I wanted to fire it to check the recoil. After firing it, for the first time, there was no recoil. My AR15 in 223, has more recoil than the 300 Win mag. It's hard to believe that it has so little recoil that I thought that I would let my wife fire it. The only thing that she is used to firing is her AR15 in a .22 caliber. My wife said that it didn't kick but was very loud.
I feel confident that this rifle, just became my favorite long range rifle. No recoil, smooth bolt and my Leupold 4-12x40, should make a great team.
