The popular M&P40 M2.0 Compact pistol now comes complete with a factory installed Crimson Trace Green Laserguard with Instinctive Activation™.
Highlights of the M&P M2.0 Compact pistol include an extended stainless-steel chassis and high grip to barrel bore axis ratio for reduced muzzle rise and faster aim recovery. The M&P M2.0 pistol further improves performance with a fine-tuned, crisper trigger, lighter pull and a tactile and audible reset. The pistol, available in three calibers, includes an aggressively-textured grip and four interchangeable palmswell inserts for optimal hand-fit and trigger reach. Includes two magazines, a limited lifetime warranty and a lifetime service policy.
Ordered the weapon on Tuesday and took delivery on Friday before noon. Great service and shipping. The price was outstanding.
I bought this new M&P 2.0 40 Compact shortly after they were introduced. I had read and watched many reviews and was excited and apprehensive at the same time. My biggest apprehension was about the texture. I had heard that it was extremely rough on the skin and even had torn some garment. I can say that has not been my experience in over 6 months of EDC.
I carry my M&P 40 Compact in a Crossbreed IWB Freedom Carry Holster. I have only had a few times where I noticed the texture against my skin. I have driven hundreds of miles while wearing the pistol. I have found a slight adjustment makes it no more noticeable than my M&P Shield.
I have found that the texture plants the firearm firmly in my hand when shooting and has enhanced my accuracy.
I am not a competitive shooter. However, the green laser has been a great help to my 70+ year old eyes.
The 2.0 Compact replaced my M&P 40C that had a 3.5 inch barrel. Not only does it hold more ammo, but larger grip feels much more secure when drawing. I have paired the new gun with my Shield in 9mm to complete my EDC when I am wearing a dress shirt and tie. In the winter months I have been carrying the 2.0 40 Compact under a suit or sport coat with no problem.
I have shot over 1,500 rounds through the barrel with absolutely no problem. I have shot aluminum case, steel case and brass case ball ammo. In addition, I have fired several mags of Federal HST 180 grain. The bulk of my ammo has been my personal hand loads, and not one failure to feed, fire, or eject.
I love the 40 cal. It is a personal preference. However, I know the advantages of 9MM.
I recently ordered a 40/9 conversion barrel which was my original plan from the beginning. I will update when I have had time to thoroughly test the new barrel.
There are a lot of good options for today's gun buyers. I fully recommend both the M&P 40 Compact with the green laser, and Sportsman's Outdoors Superstore.
Their service and the price were great. I don't remember how many days it took last summer when I made the order. But they were prompt. I was very pleased when I inspected the firearm at my FFL. I don't plan to buy any more guns at this point in my life, but I would not hesitate to order from Sportsman's Outdoor Superstore.
Thanks!
