The BFSIII Equipped M4-Built Lower Receiver from Franklin Armory comes with a Binary firing system installed. Its a three postion trigger system, Safety, Semi-Auto and Binary. In the binary position the rifle fires one round on pull and one round on release of the trigger. This trigger is ideal for both tactical and competition use. The BFSIII provides greatly reduced split times between rounds, allowing for tighter groups.
I shot about 150 rounds of 223 55 grain FMG brass case non-corrosive boxed primer Wolf Performance Ammo. Twice, the binary trigger did its job. The rest of the time, the spent cartridge would eject, but the rifle would not pick up and chamber the second round. Each time, I would have to pull the charging handle back, load anther round and try again. I shot some rounds on semiautomatic. In that mode, the rifles performed as it should. I purchased the lower, because I wanted the binary option. The rifle was cleaned and oiled — that was not the problem. If the rifle would not have performed on the semiautomatic setting, then I’d say, maybe the gas block and tube are not set properly. That’s not the case, because the failure to chamber a second round only happened when in binary mode. I am not happy and would not recommend this lower.
