Get your hands on Mossberg Patriot rifle, coupled in a premium scoped combo featuring a Vortex Crossfire II BDC riflescope. The Patriot series of bolt-action rifles combines the most requested features of Mossberg's field proven centerfire rifles in a re-engineered bolt-action platform. Hunter-inspired, the Patriot features a streamlined bolt handle, aggressively-checkered bolt knob, spiral-fluted bolt and a classically styled stock. Modern textured stippling on the sides and bottom of the forend and grip provide for a positive hold in inclement weather, and the straight comb design with raised cheekpiece provide comfort and less felt recoil.
There’s no compromising on the optics in this value-packed combo. The Crossfire II riflescope features a hard anodized, single-piece, aircraft-grade aluminum tube that is nitrogen-purged and sealed for waterproof and anti-fog performance. Long-eye relief; fast-focus eyepiece; fully multi-coated lenses; and resettable MOA turrets are standard features of the Crossfire II 3-9x40mm scope and its distinctive Dead-Hold BDC hash mark reticle eliminates guesswork on holdover and windage corrections.
Providing great value is a hallmark of the Mossberg brand and the Patriot Vortex-Scoped Combos are a wonderful addition to Mossberg’s ready-to-take afield, value-added packages.
This was my first rifle purchase when I decided to get back into deer hunting. Great package with a Vortex scope. Sighted it in, and that first season I took 3 deer with it. For a budget rifle, and all the complaints about it, I think it performs great. My wife, who had never hunted or shot a gun, decided she wanted to go to the woods with me. With loading and unloading/safety and finding the deer in the scope training, we head out hunting the day before her birthday. She nailed a huge management doe with this budget rifle. It may have run 10 yards. Again, for a budget rifle, it has a fairly smooth bolt, accu-trigger is great, and the Vortex scope should speak for itself.
Getting into the 6.5 creedmoor round, I didnt want to overspend. This gun has become my go to gun when hunting. The Vortex scope combo is great! Even with this being considered a budget rifle, Mossberg put some quality into it. Creedmoors are designed to shoot soft minimal recoil, with great accuracy at long distances. This gun does not fail any of those categories. This gun has knocked down a deer every time Ive fired it. Longest shot so far, 1822 yards, on a 8-point buck. No problem!! Smooth-action, good crisp trigger. I mean, I am excited just writing this review. 6 deer in 4 years, enough said!! I would definitely recommend this gun.
So, I had been out of the hunting game for a long time. Getting back into it, a friend recommended the 6.5 Creedmoor. Did some research and came with a plan to buy a budget rifle first, just to see. This came as a budget rifle, but it has performed like I paid top dollar for it. To get a Vorex Scope in a combo at this price is a steal. The fact that the rifle shoots great and has handled well through all weather conditions, is even better. This year I harvested a 8 point buck at 220 yards with this rifle and a 7 pointer at about 125 yards. Clean precise shots. Easy to clean, carry and light on the recoil. I am actually in the process of purchasing another one.
Bought this combo from Sportsman's Outdoor Superstore about 4 months ago. Wanted to wait until deer season to review. First off, purchase from Sportsman's Outdoor Superstore was a great experience. Easy to shop the site and easy to complete purchase. Shipped right to FFL with no issues and timely.
Rifle and scope combo worked great right out of the box. I did make the mistake of not ensuring the scope mounts were completely tightened. First day at the range the weapon fired pretty low and as I made adjustments it was moving around. After about 10 rounds I realized the mount knobs were loose. After that mistake I was able to get a great zero quickly. I zeroed at 100 and had a great group inside a nickel. Very accurate out to 300 and that is as far as I have shot so far.
Harvested a great deer with this set up last week and was very happy with the performance of the weapon. Hit where I aimed at about 175 yards.
The rifle looks great and carries well through rough terrain. Shoots great and cleaning is just as easy as any other bolt action rifle.
For the money, this is a great deal and I am very happy with my purchase. Thanks!
