"OK", you say, "Another 1911, big deal". Well, it is a big deal when you have a fully machined steel frame 1911 with a carry optic, that comes priced similar to the "big name" guy's basic model. So, before you "buy a name" and pay too much, take a look at the Girsan MC1911S Government model, and don't forget, it includes a limited LIFETIME warranty.
The red dot this pistol came with was so far off center as to be unusable with any adjustment. I have an aftermarket red dot on order. The pistol itself is a typical low dollar 1911. The trigger is a bit heavy for a 1911 at 5.5 pounds, and the safety has a tendency to not fully disengage unless you really push it down. Otherwise it seems to function well. As I haven't seen many red dot compatible pistols in 45 acp, I'm fairly pleased by the purchase. It would just be nice if the factory supplied optic that was higher quality.
