(5 out of 5) Springfield 1911 Mil-Spec 45 ACP Defender Series Pistol
by from Arlington, TX on

Super fast delivery to my FFL. I took it to the range on Saturday and put 50 rounds through it. Shoots much softer than my SA Sub-Compact. Accuracy is amazing. Get this while you can before they sell out.

SOSS was great in getting this pistol to my FFL. I've ordered two rifles from SOSS and the service has always been top notch.

I took the pistol home and cleaned it before taking it to the range on Saturday. I ran 50 rounds through it without a single issue. The pistol is a soft shooter, which really surprised me. My SA sub-compact definitely is a much harder shooter than the Springfield 1911 Mil-Spec 45 ACP Defender Series Pistol. Order one today before they're all gone.

(4 out of 5) Great gun!
by from Rising Sun, MD on

I bought what I'm guessing now is the first generation of this series when they were going for 500 bucks a few years back. Its a great shooter and a great base to build on or just run As is. Even the wife handles this pistol with relative ease. There are a lot of rough/ sharp edges but for the price... it is what it is. I would definitely purchase this again with no regrets.

(5 out of 5) Dream Gun!

I had always wanted this gun. Saw the price here and didn't hesitate to buy it. Shipping was quick and fast. Nice job! Gun shoots perfectly! No complaints, may become my carry gun in the near future.

(5 out of 5) Now I get it.
by from Flemington, NJ on

Now I understand why some people just love 1911’s. This feels so much different than my M&P9 and in a good way. The recoil, for me at least, was mild. It felt better in my had than my M&P, and I was consistently hitting center mass on half size silhouettes at 10 yards. I’ve only been shooting 8 months and can’t do that with my M&P. The first thing I did when I got it home was field strip it. For those shying away from a 1911 because it’s “a pain to clean” don’t let that stop you. It did not take long for me to get the hang of it and it is totally worth it. The RSO’s at my range gave it a try as well and they too were impressed both are 1911 fans and owners. So I think it was a good choice. Need more ammo now.

(5 out of 5) Unexpected quality
by from Hulmevile, PA on

For a so-called entry-level 1911 this handgun has exceeded my every expectation. At 25 yards Im still picking off small pieces of clay. Good price good quality

(5 out of 5) Springfield 45 milspec
by from Hulmeville, PA on

Right out of the box at our outdoor range, at 30 yards a small piece of shooting clay it took 3 shots then a smaller piece 2 shots. I happy with the mil spec Springfield 45

(4 out of 5) Great bargain priced weapon
by from Denver, CO on

Overall I love the Springfield 1911 Mil Spec. Put a couple hundred rounds through it already with no problems. Dead accurate. Cleaning is a bit of a pain. The slide stop is hard to reinsert after cleaning. That is the only complaint I have about this gun-a minor irritation compared to weapon performance. Highly recommend this weapon. High quality at bargain price.

(5 out of 5) The Legend
by from Leesburg, VA on

This is just an awesome gun. It's a thrill for me to own it and a real joy to shoot it. It looks great, feels perfect in my hands, shoots flawlessly and as straight as I aim it. I love taking it down, cleaning it, and reassembling it. I have other hand guns but this is the one I talk about.
