Even I was advice by other shutters about this brand, I wanted to try this gun. It worked only the first day.... The worst gun I ever bought.
This is a great 22 pistol. I had been using a S&W model 22A and was wanting to upgrade to something newer. The 16+1 magazines and the larger grip size really made the decision for me. I have only been shooting Federal 38gr copper plated and have yet to have an issue with nearly 1k rounds through the gun.
The take down of the pistol is similar to any modern pistol. Cleaning it is a breeze. It is a great trainer pistol in all regards. I highly recommend purchasing.
Accurate, flawless, fun, easy to take apart to clean, my only Taurus!
Great purchase! Pistol is accurate, reliable and fun to shoot. Grip is ergonomic and comfortable and accommodates most, if not all hand sizes without removable backstraps. Have shot Remington, Aguila, CCI, Winchester ammo. Doesn't feed the Winchester hollow point ammo if mag is topped off. I contribute that to the shape of the Winchester bullet. Loading mags with 12 rounds instead of the max of 16 cycles the Winchester hollow point. Fed Remington Thunderbolts and Golden Bullets, Aguila ammo and CCI with no issues. Only had one stove pipe early on with Winchester.
I have shot around 700 rounds through it so far. I'd have to say it's a fun pistol to shoot with just enough muzzle flip to make it fun and seem like your shooting a larger caliber. I really like this pistol and it has opened up my eyes to shooting .22 again. From now on when I go to the range I'm bringing the TX22 and either a 9mm or .45 with. As with most .22 semi autos, stick with high or hyper velocity to cycle properly. If Taurus ever comes out with a TX9 or TX45 I'm buying one!
I was thinking just go with the more expensive Ruger or S&W but decided in this Taurus. I have to say I love it. Shoots fast on target. And from start to finish 500 rounds no jams misfires or stove pipes. All shot with Federal Auto Match 325 bulk packs. I think this is a great gun to train with or do like I do and just have a blast with it.
