Hornady® Subsonic Ammunition — designed for accuracy and performance below the speed of sound — now comes in both rifle and handgun loads.
Subsonic Handgun utilizes tried-and-true XTP® bullets that expand reliably at subsonic velocities. The Sub-X bullet used in Subsonic Rifle features a lead core. Long grooves in its gilding metal jacket combine with the bullet’s flat profile and the patented Flex Tip® insert within its hollowpoint cavity to help it expand reliably at low velocities.
Powders are selected for optimal performance and consistency from lot to lot.
I had 3 that misfired, but not sure if I would’ve had more if I’d used more to sight my rifle. I might have found a few more! It looked like the primers were seated too far in. It would strike the primer but not enough to ignite it. I liked the ammunition because the suppression was great with very little sound! I’m not sure if I’ll buy more since I have two boxes and they’ll last a while, plus I’m not sure if I’ll hunt with them after the misfires.
Most rounds shot great and were very quiet when fired through my 45/70 and Primal suppressor! I shot a dozen rounds with two misfires. The primers were hit, but I think they were seated a little too deep. Overall, I still like this ammo.
