After years of development, Springfield is proud to introduce the Hellcat™, the highest capacity micro compact 9mm in the world and the next generation of defensive pistol from Springfield Armory.
The 3″ barreled micro compact pistol features a class leading capacity of 11+1 with its patented magazine — 13+1 with the included extended mag — and is the result of years of painstaking development and engineering in addition to intensive collaboration with top engineers, shooters and self defense experts.
Along with its small size and advanced features the Hellcat delivers rugged durability. The +P rated pistol features a hammer forged steel barrel and billet machined slide, both featuring Melonite™ coating. The lightweight and strong frame features Adaptive Grip Texture™, a seamless, pressure activated texture featuring a pattern of staggered pyramid shapes. The taller pyramids have a flattened top to ensure comfort in the waistband, while the shorter pyramids come to a point and are engaged when the pistol is firmly gripped. A high-hand beavertail and undercut trigger guard situate the pistol low in the hand for maximum control. A reversible mag release and standard accessory rail for lights and lasers ensure maximum adaptability.
Rear serrations run over the top of the slide for quick and easy manipulation and are designed for positive engagement. The Hellcat’s flat trigger body and nickel boron-coated trigger group provide a consistent trigger pull. A full length guide rod and dual active recoil spring ensure reliable operation and a smooth recoil impulse. The Hellcat also features a textured stand-off device at the muzzle that ensures the pistol will fire when pressed against a target.
Hellcats ship with one 11-round magazine with finger extension and optional flush fitting floorplate as well as one 13-round extended magazine. This provides you with maximum flexibility for both firepower and concealability to fit your specific needs.
I am very impressed with my Hellcat 9mm and a great conceal carry with a perfect capacity of ammo in the 11 and 13 Rnd Magazines.
Took a few shots to get used to the half circle rear sight. Once I got past that, I really enjoyed shooting the pistol for a micro package I was pleasantly surprised. I had shot the Hellcat side by side with the G43 and P365, found I liked it over the others. It's slightly thicker grip felt more comfortable and I felt I had more control over the pistol. It carries well IWB, almost forget it's there. I heck of a package for a CCW, micro sized with compact capacity to it was a win-win.
Now that I have been to the range, I am impressed with the Hellcat. It fired everything I loaded. Winchester 115gr white box, Remington 115gr FMJ, Winchester 124gr NATO, Hornady 115gr Critical Defense, 147gr Freedom Munitions FMJ and my favorite carry ammo 124gr Federal HST. 250+rds, ZERO issues and very accurate!
Really like this pistol. I also have the Glock 43 and the Sig 365, compares well in size to both. The performance and reliability is right there with the G43 but in my opinion it out performs the P365.
The Hellcat performed reliably out of the box by chewing up nearly 500 rounds of assorted weight ammo without a issue. My G43 did the same but my P365 had feed issues and has been back to Sig several times, so my confidence is not there any longer.
I now take the Hellcat and the G43 as my carry pistols. The trigger on the Hellcat is smooth and the grip is really nice especially with the extended mag. I looked carefully at the spent rounds for striker drag but there was zero noted with the Hellcat.
I still have striker drag on the Sig.
