(4 out of 5) Not bad for the price if your willing to fix QC issues.
by from Buckeye, AZ on

Fitment and finish are not the best quality, tolerances seem slightly off. Really hard to push receiver pins out for disassemblymight be due to the Cerakote. Trigger also had a pretty disappointing rough patch right before break, and would seize until completely pressed or placed back on safe. I've since replace with an Rave RA-140 by Rise Armament. Castle nut came loose after normal use allowing my buffer tube to become misaligned. I've since cranked it down with an armorers wrench and I may stake it or change out the buffer tube assembly all-together. with all that said, if you are familiar with AR-15s and don't mind ironing out the potential issues, this gun has some decent value for its price range. Note: I based my rating on out of box performance, you may get one better assembled than mine. If not, its workable with patience and knowledge of the platform.

(1 out of 5) My 2nd Rugar 556, not good
by from Hoffman Estates, IL on

This is my second AR556 from Rugar and my first one has been trouble free. This one I wish I could say the same. I have had noting but jamming issues and narrowed it down to a faulty BCG. My biggest issue has been with not having a true barrel. I have had 3 separate scopes on this rifle and have had zero luck zero’n it in. Been to 3 different gun smiths and all came back to issues with barrel and upper assembled. I will be contacting Rugar direct and this rifle has been a lemon from the beginning.

(5 out of 5) Ruger AR-556 MPR Frazzled Brown Cerakote finish is bad a$$!...
by from Hollywood, FL on

Honestly, at this price point whats not to like starting with the 18 inch barrel and 15 inch free float hand guard, along with the Ruger Elite 452 AR-Trigger which is pretty sweet in offering a smooth & crisp trigger action... no to mention the Magpul furniture and last but not least the Frazzled Brown Cerakote finish is pretty friken bad a$$!! I already owned the Ruger AR-556 MPR in the black anodized finish, but when I saw that this Frazzled Brown Cerakote finish MPR was available I just had to have it and I am not disappointed with either rifle especially with the rifle gas system that they employ as opposed to the carbine gas system.
