Choosing a first shotgun is an important decision that has the potential to make or break future enjoyment of the shooting sports. Start them with a .410 and they may enjoy the lack of recoil, but they could very well be frustrated by the limited shot pattern and increased misses. Put a 12 gauge into their hands right off the bat and you run the chance that they’ll find the recoil intimidating, if not painful, and they’ll be put off of shotgun hunting for good. Enter the 20 gauge Single Shot Shotgun.
The Single Shot Shotgun is the perfect fit for smaller-framed shooters who are ready to take the hunt to the fields and the woods. Like Henry's other models, this shotgun is built to the same exacting standards as its larger counterpart. The key difference lies with the buttstock being 1” shorter to make a length of pull of 13” from the end of the buttstock to the trigger.It shares the same action and quality of materials as the other single shots, including the ambidextrous locking lever setup that blocks hammer contact with the firing pin unless the trigger is pulled, and prevents the action from breaking or closing when the hammer is cocked for an extra layer of safety.
