(5 out of 5) Tack driver...
by from Advance, NC on

I traded my Glock 19 Gen 5 for this Walther Compact PDP. The PDP fits my hands like a glove and it’s an absolute tack driver with the stock sights out of the box. I’m not using this for concealed carry but rather a home defense pistol. I’ve added a TLR-7 Streamlight for $125 and the combo serves its intended purpose. At this time I have not added a red dot sight and I’m undecided if I will or not. The fairly aggressive grip texture is exactly what I prefer, the slide mechanism is smooth and the rack serrations are nice. The trigger pull is clean and crisp and the reset is short.

My only complaint is that you have to request the plate from Walther for the optic you want. When it comes down to it every individual has to pick up a pistol, hold it, work it, and fire it. We all have different preferences on feel and comfort and a recommendation from a friend is just that. Try before it before you buy it. Happy Shooting!

(3 out of 5) Fan of walther, but PDP was paid hype
by from Phoenixville, PA on

Not much to say, I bought the 4.5 barrel full size...took me a while to run 500 or so rounds through it and decided I dont like it and its going get sold. I really do love Walther, but the PDP is in almost every way worse than every other full size gun I own. Snappy, crap sights...fine, its got a good trigger, but it shoots worse than a stock G17. Its a shame they cancelled the excellent PPQ line for this crap. The only thing walther seems to have done with the PDP was invent an even worse version of Glocks MOS. The hype, I can only guess, is paid for by Walther. Good to know that almost all gun reviewers are shills.
