Holt salt blued carbon steel and wood — the definition of tradition. The Garrison takes the classic and proven 1911 design and combines heirloom-quality construction with the modern features today’s shooters demand. The result is a rock-solid 1911 with forged steel construction, modern upgrades and the strength to provide a lifetime of service. For those who respect tradition and demand the best, the Garrison stands ready.
The pictures are deceiving, this gun is solid black and 100% not shiney. I'd recommend spending the extra $50 for the stainless steel one.
The Garrison Stainless Steel is a much better looking gun, but the blued is the same. Would pay extra for the S.S. version, but it is up to u. Most of my handguns are black, except the Smith and Wesson SD 2.0, which has a chromed top half. If u want class, stainless or chrome, but have to be careful of scratches. So they look very nice. I am polishing mine all the time because it feels right! The Garrison model 1911 A1 .45 ACP is the way to go. For me, I am ready for #3 1911 coming soon to my place. That's all I have, but it also fires perfectly. It is up to u. You know my opinion. Have fun deciding what u want! Peace out and enjoy!!
