Smith & Wesson is excited to introduce their S&W® Shield™ EZ® in a new caliber - Federal® 30 Super Carry™. The Shield EZ pistol features a 10+1 round capacity and a 3.675” barrel, ships with two 10 round magazines that feature a load-assist tab for quick, easy loading, as well as a Picatinny-style equipment rail to accommodate accessories. The pistol also features an optimal M&P pistol 18-degree grip angle for a natural point of aim, white-dot front and adjustable white-dot rear sights, and a light, crisp trigger!
My S&W 9mm EZ used to be my carry weapon of choice until I purchased this gun! Once again, S&W has outdone themselves with this new firearm. I love the way it feels in my hand, and it is extremely accurate at both 25 feet and 25 yards!
...the trigger is terrible. It moves in fits and starts. Currently there is no after-market replacement. If youre someone who reloads youll have to first buy factory loads. While dies are available brass is not. Not the easiest to take down and put back together.
Very nice shooting pistol. 150+ rounds so far and zero malfunctions. Easy to stay on target even when shooting quickly. Recoil feels like 90% of 9mm. Federal 100 gr fmj, HST 100 gr, and Gold Dot 115 gr all felt the same. Fit/finish/feel is the same as the other M&P pistols I’ve owned. I would definitely get another in this caliber or .380/9mm
Great gun, shoots and handles well! Easy load and to chamber.
Great shooting. Ammo hard to find and expensive.
Awesome gun, awesome price, awesome caliber.
Just purchased this pistol. It was to replace my 9mm. Being in my late 70s with hand issues, it had a lot of the features I needed. What I did not know was that it seems to have a reported design issue with the grip safety, which I just learned about. Having shot and carried many 1911s, I never had any problem with their grip safeties. Hope S&W repair shop can fix the issue without having to use a grip safety sleeve. I was getting approx. 4 out of 10 failures to fire when racking the slide. Frustrating, because I kept trying to adjust my hand grip on the gun to solve the problem. If you are older or just have hand problems, I would think about the grip safety issue before buying.
Just got my pistol back from S&W repair. They never contacted me while it was there for my input. After over a month in the shop, they said that the pistol was okay in the paperwork I got when I received it. It still does not work for me. It fails to fire depending on my hand grip. Will have to look at different solutions or find a different firearm.
The texturing on the hand grip is terrible, very rough, like rough sandpaper. Terrible, I had to put a sleeve on it. But once the sleeve was on, this thing is great, feels good in the hand, lines up very easily for target shooting, and it performs very well actually. 250 rounds through it, and no hiccups, no problems whatsoever. Oh, and by the way, deadly accurate, very accurate. So that's what it is...that is the way.
I love this pistol. The slide is easy to rack, and the mags are very easy to load. The recoil seems to be slightly less than a 9mm. The grip safety is no problem for me at all. In this pistol, I prefer the 30SC over the 9mm because of the 10-round capacity vs. 8 rounds in the 9mm. This pistol is my favorite to carry. Some of the reviews criticized the trigger, but mine is great, and the pistol is very accurate. The pistol is relatively easy to field strip and reassemble, but make sure to read the section in the owner’s manual for instructions on the disassembly/reassembly procedure before you do. There is a very specific method, and if you do not follow it, you may end up with the slide stuck in a position where you can’t move it forward or back. I know this because it happened to me the first time. I thought I would have to send it back to S&W to get the gun back in operating condition, but I figured out a way to release the stuck slide without damaging it. After that, I have never had an issue with disassembly or reassembly of the pistol.
