I'm truly amazed at how well my first 100 rounds went. The accuracy and consistency with different ammunition were absolutely impressive—I had never gotten results like this before. I recommend polishing your contacts well and adding the Guide Rod Full Length and the 12LB Recoil Spring from Wilson Combat. With these two upgrades, I guarantee you'll have a high-quality pistol in your hands without having to spend thousands of dollars.
My Tisas DS did not shoot straight out of the box. A Wilson bushing and spring plunger helped, but it still shoots low and left. The front sight is too tall with no remedy. Tisas customer service is nonexistent. Most folks are adding a red dot to get it to shoot, some with difficulty. It’s a reliable shooter, just hard to get on target. I know how to shoot a pistol, don’t blame me.
After watching this double stack 1911/2011 double stack for awhile, we decided to get one. We already own the exceptional Carry 9 single stack, so now we have the DS also. The price here was better than competitors and shipping fast! At the range, we fed it 115gr FMJ, 124gr JHP, 147gr JHP, and critical defense. It fed everything we threw at it flawlessly. Sight are dead on from 15 to 50 yards. The two 17 round mags are high quality. We ran the 1911 DS hard, from slow fire to rapid fire without any issues. Quality fit and finish, extremely acceptable price range, and exceptionally reliable.
