(5 out of 5) Amazing deal on what appears to be a gun left in a locker and seldom used. Looks new.
by from Scottsboro, AL on

This was my first time ordering from Sportsman’s Outdoor Superstore. I give their service a separate 5-star rating here.  I just happened to be up late when the email came in about the LEO Glock 17 Gen5 trade-ins. I’ve seen many trade-in guns marked as "very good" or "excellent" from other online sellers, only to receive a pistol in "good" condition at best.

This was totally the opposite. This gun looks like it was bought, shot at the range maybe 100 rounds, and then put in a locker. It looks new. No exaggeration. No holster wear, scratches, or worn areas on the grip or frame, and the barrel shows little signs of being fired.

The first thing I did was take the gun apart. Everything was super clean. Not oily or lubed up. Just very clean. The only sign of wear was on the bottom of the barrel, where a light mark is left from the recoil spring touching it. And even that was minimal. Not shiny down to the steel. Just slightly lighter in color. Most of my Glocks are worn down to a shiny line across the bottom of the barrel in that same location. The Ameriglo Trooper night sights are as bright as new. I install night sights on every pistol I own that may be carried or used for home defense. I’ve always used Trijicon, but these are just as bright. Only time will tell if they last as long, but they seem very nice.

The new Gen5 trigger has a noticeable difference from older generations. The usual Glock "squishy" feeling is gone. You can feel the trigger stop at the breaking point very clearly. It has a crisp break with a great reset. I also love the new frame. It’s a full-size gun, but if you close your eyes, you wouldn’t think so. The grip is very comfortable and allows for a high, strong-hand position thanks to the removal of the finger grooves. I was able to maintain a firm grip even during rapid fire. I won’t need sandpaper-style grips on this one. I didn’t notice a huge difference in the enhanced barrel on the Gen5 compared to my Gen 3 or 4 Glocks. If you’re used to shooting Glocks, this one is just as accurate as the rest. I do shoot a lot, though.

So, in summary, if you bought this Gen5 standard and added the Ameriglo Trooper sights, you’d be looking at over $650-$675 even at used prices. I got mine home for $430 and change. You can’t beat that deal.

So don’t hesitate if you’re worried about getting a typical LEO trade-in gun. These guys are the most accurate at grading a used firearm that I’ve ever come across. If anything, mine could have been graded as "excellent." Wish they’d let me post photos. Anyway, buy them while they’re back in stock. They move fast.

Purchased this PD trade-in Gen 5 G17. It came to me clean, lubed, and in like-new condition. Mags feed perfectly, and the Ameriglo Trooper night sights are bright and like new. Quite possibly the best Glock-stock trigger ever. May order another.

(5 out of 5) Awesome!
by from Berryville, VA on

Wow! This Glock is in amazing condition, obviously used very little. It still had all the extras in the case that would come with a new one, except for the cleaning brush. I think I can live without another cleaning brush. I had to switch the mag release button, but it only took about 2 minutes and was an easy process. Delivery was fast, and the FFL process was a breeze. Thank you!

(5 out of 5) What a deal
by from Bullard, TX on

For the price, you can’t beat it. I got the gun with the TLR1 deal. The gun has been fired but has no other marks and is in "like new" condition. I couldn’t be more pleased with the condition and price.

(5 out of 5) Great value
by from Tampa, FL on

The pistol I received was made in 2020 per Glock. I couldn’t see any holster wear. Only one mark on it was near the accessory rail from a mounted light at some point. Came with the higher end Amglo night sights, two mags, the cleaning rod no brush, original OEM paperwork, and Glock Tupperware box. Was clean and in great almost new condition. Gen 5 trigger is a nice step up from the gen 4.
