First weapon I bought through Sportsmans, everything went smoothly and perfect. Rifle was exactly what I was told it was going to be, everything was there. I just bought my 2nd rifle here as well and really, I do all my gun and ammo shopping here.
What really needs to be said. Waited along time to finally own an M1A, and it was well worth the wait. Fairly light for a full power battle type rifle. A true joy to shoot. Accurate and smooth, even with its original sights. Had a beautiful Tiger stripe M14 stock up in my closet for years and it looks great! Very pleased with quality, accuracy and the shooting experience. Total package in these Springfield rifles!
The M1A has been on my must have list for a while, and it was well worth the cost. It's from Springfield Armory, what more has to be said..
Just broken in, not too many rounds fired as yet. Easy to aim and good trigger release, fairly soft recoil with 150 grain bullets. Sights were pretty close, and easy to use, good groups for a break in period. Had some of the light firing pin strike issues with German military surplus ammo, and some partial feeds with some Israeli military surplus ammo. Hope it will work better with more break in.
What a nice shooting rifle. Iron sights are on and cannot wait for my 2 free magazines and scope mount to arrive. Flawless operation, great feel and quality. Buy one, you will not be disappointed.
I carried the original for special duty in the Army, and fell in love with it! This M1A functions just like it predecessor!
