The Sub-Compact 3” XD pistol is the ultimate in self defense firearms. The shortest carry polymer pistol in the world that features the only light rail in its class.
The Springfield XD’s legendary Point and Shoot Ergonomics combines natural pointability with a compact, contoured polymer grip. The result is an instrument that feels more like a natural extension of your body than an object in your hand.
I bought this gun in March of 2017 and I have never had a malfunction and have carried it for years! Solid gun. Can be a little heavy depending on your outfit but overall cant go wrong with this firearm.
I bought this gun in 2017. I have never had any failures of any kind`;` thousands of rounds in. It was also my first online gun purchase, SOSS made it very simple.
Years ago, purchased the 9mm sub compact spring xd. This gun is fantastic. Took it out today and put a box of rem 9 mm through it. Never had an issue with this pistol. And have owned it for 7 or 8 years now, probably put over 1000 rounds though it. This has been a great purchase for me.
Couple items I will say, if you are a lady, this might not be a great gun for you. Maybe, maybe not. The spring is pretty tight inside, so it takes a little muscle to dismantle for cleaning.
Also I will say that the sights were a little easier to remove so I could put night sights on this pistol. Otherwise fantastic.
This is my carry weapon. I'm at the range every other week and haven't had an issue yet. It's accurate, great trigger pull, lots of rounds, and I love the weight on my belt.
Had this for about 6 months now, probably 500+ rounds thru it. Not a single issue. The trigger is super nice. I am very happy with this purchase and SOSS. Shipping was a marathon, but these folks are swamped with orders. Extra mags rebate was also a very nice perk.
Pretty much out of the box and to the range. Tight grouping from 7.5 yards to 10.5 yards. 3 inch barrel...are you serious Zero issues, 125 rounds. Buy this gun.....
Today the first day of the test. I feel surprised. It's really a good handgun. Smooth & stable is the only way it can be described. I love this gun...
I LOVE this pistol! Yes, it's a little fat for my liking when carrying in hot Florida summers, but it works. As far as function and performance, it's flawless. I like the XD Sub-compact line so much I have one in .40 S&W and two in 9mm. None of them have ever malfunctioned, they eat everything I feed it, the recoil is VERY manageable, and they're extremely accurate. I much prefer this model over the XDs. For the money, you'll not find a better CC pistol.
I was looking for a high-capacity CCW pistol, one that I could both practice with at the range for target practice, and one I could use in a self-defense situation. I didn't want a single stack, I needed capacity - this XD filled the bill nicely.
Never had a problem firing brass or steel-cased ammo: the pistol eats anything and fires every time. The printing was nominal, I'd recommend an Alien Gear holster personally, but whatever works - the flush mount magazine with 13 rounds was the way to carry. I'd keep the 16 round extended mag as a backup, tucked in a pocket.
My only concern was the magazine release was a little sticky at times. I'm not sure if I needed to clean or oil the magazine or mag release button, but it was a little stickier than I liked. If you have arthritis or carpal tunnel, it's not as smooth as a Glock or S&W mag release - but again, I didn't clean it so maybe that was the thing.
I did wind up selling mine so I could get the Mod 2, which was out of stock everywhere - I got the original XD 9 out of impatience, but wasn't disappointed. Felt great in my hand, pointed naturally, had no accuracy issues. Recoil was minimal. Highly recommend, great pistol.
I got this gun within a week of ordering it. Gun has never malfunctioned on me and chews up every type of ammo I put in it.
