Old world style with new world features. This is my first large caliber pistol, though I own a variety of firearms, and I'm extremely pleased with this single action. The hammer is wider than your standard SA six shooter for my ogre paws, this is a plus and the build quality is top notch Ruger. My only regret is that they only had one in stock when I ordered. A heavy piece, helps with recoil, and I plan to use this for action shooting. Perhaps with some practice, it can be my large caliber side arm when hunting with a semi auto back up... I like tradition, but I like making it home too. I highly recommend this Ruger if you are in the market for a cowboy SA, no, it doesn't have the Colt action two clicks, not four but, you can put six in the cylinder due to the transfer bar, which frankly, I find pretty genius. Mine came with the laminate grips with a slight hint of orange... which I love. Adjustable sights and I believe you can get more traditional sights if you must. Smooth action, fires true. Beautiful gun... get one.
I've now purchased 2 guns here and both experiences have been outstanding. Very reliable and they ship quick. I called their customer service line this last time to ask a simple question and that interaction was also top notch. I'll absolutely look here first for my next gun purchase.
