Just like the original, full-sized SR9, the Ruger SR9c Black Nitride is loaded with modern safety features like a 1911-style ambidextrous manual safety, internal trigger bar interlock and striker blocker, trigger safety, magazine disconnect, plus a visual and tactile loaded chamber indicator.
It comes with two magazines that provide options in both capacity and grip size. The standard magazine holds 10 rounds and features a flat bottom butt plate; a finger grip extension floor plate is also included. The second magazine features a grip adapter and holds 17 rounds, instantly transforming the smaller, compact grip into a full-sized 9mm grip.
The Ruger SR9c compact pistol weighs in at 23.40 oz. and features an overall length of 6.85”, a height of 4.61”, and the same slim 1.27” grip width (across safety levers) as the full-sized SR9. The 3.50” barreled pistol features an integral accessory rail that accommodates most lights and lasers.
It's my second purchase from SOSS, and I'm satisfied as the first time around. Will keep buying from them. Keep up the great job.
Ugh, the magazine disconnect. Yeah, I ripped it out soon as I got it. The external safety, yeah, I ground that off too. For essentially same dimensions as M&P Compact, M&P gives you 12 rounds, Ruger 10 rounds, a minus in my book. Pros, great, crisp trigger, although reset is rather long. Shoots accurate with no mis feeds thus far, but plastic internal parts are worrisome. Plastic guide rod in the recoil spring bowing from the spring pressure is visible when taking the gun apart.
Among my collection of my handguns, this gun is the best in size, rounds, trigger, grip and value. I'd buy it again!
Best 9mm carry gun
Ordered the gun on Monday, my FFL dealer called on Thursday, the gun was in. Fast service and no shipping charge. The gun is just what I wanted. I have run about 200 rounds thru it in 2 trips to the range, not a single problem. Eats every type of ammo I fed it. Very happy will be a customer again.
