The XD(M)® 3.8” Full-Size 40S&W mates a 3.8” barrel with a full-sized frame. This means you’ll get the handling and capacity you’d expect from a standard sized pistol, but with a shorter top end for easier carry. The XD(M)® is packed with features. The three interchangeable backstraps mean that no matter what size your hand, the pistol can fit it perfectly. Mega-lock texturing will keep it secure in your grasp, while the dovetail sights align with ease and the minimal reset trigger breaks crisply and cleanly. And when you do send a round downrange, the match-grade barrel will direct it with industry-leading precision.

- (M)ould-Tru Backstraps: With the interchangeable backstraps, Springfield has added another level of comfort. Personalize your grip by choosing one of three backstraps for a more custom fit.
- (M)ulti-Adjust Rail System™: A triple-position Picatinny rail readily accepts lights, lasers or other accessories. More importantly, it allows them to be adjusted to the shooter’s hand position.
- (M)elonite®: Traditional black oxide finishes are a few millionths of an inch thick and offer no corrosion resistance. The rugged Melonite® finish on the XD(M)® is a salt bath nitriding process that leaves a thick, corrosion-resistant, hard surface.
- (M)atch Grade Barrel: Rivaling aerospace manufacturing, the XD(M)® match-grade barrel takes precision manufacturing to a whole new level never available within the firearms industry.

This is a great gun ... period! I am impressed with Springfields quality and this is my 2nd SA gun. I have an older XD 9MM subcompact which is also a great gun. This SA XDM .40 is very ergonomic and extremely accurate for me. I can easily handle the recoil of the 40 caliber bullet with this gun, much more so than other 40 caliber guns I have tried. Originally, I wanted a Glock 23, but that gun tore up my hand and did not feel very good or manageable. Now, I do like Glocks, and in particular the G19, so Im not knocking them. I just found the SA XDM to be a much better shooter in this caliber. I have not had any issues with the XDM: no FTE, FTS, not one problem!! And it comes with everything you would need: mag pouch, holster, backstraps, great case ... you're set for IDPA. Side note: I will be getting a G19 soon though!
