TALO’s Special Edition Colt Commander Model designed by Wiley Clapp.
I purchased this firearm to replace another as my daily carry. The advantages this frame has over the standard Colt Commander is bar-none. The front strap checkering and trigger guard undercut make for a positive grip even in less-than-ideal conditions.
I'm not 100% sold on the brass bead as the front sight post. I understand and have shot blacked out rear sights and white dot front sight posts but the brass bead doesn't really pop as much as a contrasting white dot does. The look of the sights are great, however.
Durability: The coating on the firearm is great. The grips are phenomenal and the trigger is...well a Colt series 70 trigger. It's very crisp and the reset is very short and whoever said it has a 5.5lb rated trigger is either high AF when typing that in - or the wide trigger face is displacing a lot of that weight very efficiently.
I've ran everything from standard 230G Ball, to boutique defense ammo and I've had yet to FTF, FTE or any light primer strikes.
I did go one outing around 300 rounds mixed ammo without a single hiccup.
I run a gun lube on the rails and oil on other parts that need oil. Run it wet, keep it wet and shell run for you when you need it to go bang. It's really that simple.
I keep this firearm in a kydex holster as well - no signs of wear on the slide either. Just phenomenal.
