44 Mag. Machine Engraved. Impressive revolver. Beautifully engraved. Looking forward to shooting.
Wow. I mean wow! First of all, this is a beautiful firearm. The fit and finish are extraordinary. The photos don’t do this justice. The engraving adds just the right amount of class. I have been looking for a model 29 classic for awhile but I was not specifically looking for the engraved edition. However, I am so glad I picked up this special edition gun. The mahogany display box that comes with it is beautiful as well. The only complaint I have with the box is the lock is very cheap and really nonfunctional. But I don’t really care about that. The only issue I’d have with someone getting to this gun is if it’s stolen I have no children at home to worry about and a thief would just smash the box to get at the gun so I wouldn’t use the lock even if it worked. Now to the function of the weapon itself. First off, it’s a beast. It weighs 64 ounces when loaded with 300 grain 44 mag rounds. I started off with 44 special light loads and thought to myself that this recoil is no worse than my 357 magnum. It’s a different story with the 44 magnum rounds. “Holy Smokes Batman”. The recoil is fairly extreme with the magnum rounds but nothing I can’t handle. The raw power of this weapon is a sight to behold. There’s nothing quite like Hearing the sound of a 44 magnum round going off, feeling the recoil and seeing the fireball exit the muzzle. It’s just an experience all unto itself. Because of what this is it’ll stay in its display box most of the time as a collectors piece and take it out only if I feel particularly nostalgic. The reason I gave 4 stars in two categories is due to the length of time it took to ship the gun. As for the gun itself, it’s truly a masterpiece!
