(4 out of 5) First timer gives a thumbs up
by from Warrendale, PA on

Only giving this a 4 star because I'm new to owning firearms and don't want to put out false/fanboy information just because I love this gun so much. Bought this locally in November because the store was having a decent financing deal. I'm not entirely new to shooting, but I never actually owned a firearm or shot semi-regularly.
I cannot attest to a how it handles a wide variety of ammunition or other rigorous tests. I can say that as a new owner, this is a wonderful firearm that I'm excited to own. The delayed blowback makes recoil much lighter compared to the other firearms I've fired in the past and while it does get rather hot if you're at the range for a while because of that, it will serve its purpose as a CCW just fine.
The piston/blowback system allows for an easier racking slide, something that I greatly appreciate as some pistols have given me trouble in that regard in the past. The biggest thing for me, however, was the ergonomics`;` I had to have held at least 10 pistols in the shop that day. I've held my dads police pistol growing up and the Beretta in my Guard unit`;` I cannot stand most pistol grips for some reason. They either are too small and hard to control if they're compact or much too uncomfortable and unwieldy looking at you Beretta. This melts into your hand. My dad even said it was the most comfortable pistol hes ever held. If you're a newish shooter or someone just looking for a good compact, great feeling pistol, definitely grab this.

(1 out of 5) Not a Real Walther, Dont Waste Your Money.
by from Orland Park, IL on

I am thoroughly disappointed with this firearm. I own many other Walther handguns and love them, however, the CCP M2 will not remain in my collection. The first day I took the gun to the range I tried 5 different brands of 9mm. Out of all 5, 4 brands caused malfunction after malfunction and the one steel cased ammunition I brought would not even cycle the slide. To make sure the problem was not the ammunition, I ran it all through my Springfield which handled it flawlessly. When I got home, I tore down the gun expecting to find some obvious reason as to why the firearm performed so poorly, such as a cracked or missing ejector, however, there was no noticeable reason to justify the awful performance of the CCP M2. I will be sending the gun back to Walther for an evaluation, but for now, I plan on replacing it as soon as possible.
