(2 out of 5) Got a Bad One
by from Phoenix, AZ on

I bought this because it has a light rack system and holds twice as much as my S&W 380 EZ. It feels good in my hand, and I like the easy-to-pick-up fiber optic front sight. Unfortunately, the one I got has had several issues, including light strikes, failures to feed, and FTEs (Failures to Eject).

I've tried eight different brands of ammo, and while some have worked better than others, none have been trouble-free. I’ve replaced the recoil spring assembly, firing pin, firing pin spring, and upgraded the trigger and spring, as I was getting trigger bite with the stock one. None of these fixes have resolved all the issues, though they have improved it somewhat. It has been thoroughly cleaned and lubricated, and I’ve disassembled and cleaned the magazines, but the problems persist even after putting about 750 rounds through it. I'm reluctant to send it back to the factory, as I’ve read many reviews about how their repair service quality has slipped dramatically, with folks getting their pistols back still not functioning properly.

Given that I rarely get through one or two magazines without some issues, this pistol is not reliable enough for me to ever consider carrying it. As a range toy, it’s just too aggravating with how poorly it works. It’s a no-win situation, and I made the mistake of buying it based partly on a large number of positive reviews that don't reflect the gun I received.

I wish I could sell it, but I’d feel obligated to tell the prospective buyer about all the problems I’ve had with it, and I doubt they’d want it after that. If I had gotten a good one that worked the way it should, I’d love it—but this one just isn’t reliable enough to enjoy.

(3 out of 5) Hasnt Met Expectations
by from Phoenix, AZ on

I bought this because it has twice the capacity of my S&W .380 EZ and features a Lite Rack System, which helps with my arthritis. Unfortunately, my firearm has not performed nearly as well as most reports suggest. I’ve experienced several issues, including light strikes, failures to feed, and stovepipes. While it works better with some ammunition than others, it still doesn’t meet my basic expectation of reliability. Occasionally, I can get through a magazine or two without issues.

I’ve replaced the recoil spring, firing pin, and firing pin spring, but the problems persist. Despite thorough cleaning and lubrication, as well as disassembling and cleaning the magazines, the gun remains unreliable. Perhaps I’ve been spoiled by the S&W .380 EZ, which has always performed flawlessly with over 1,500 rounds and a wide variety of ammunition. Maybe I just got a lemon, but from my perspective, knowing what I do now, I wouldn’t have purchased this firearm.

(5 out of 5) Awesome pistol
by from Kempner, TX on

Thanks for having it in stock. Great price and free shipping! The pistol is awesome, great for concealed carry. With it being a 380, there is hardly any recoil. The wife loves that the slide is easy to work! Overall we are very satisfied with it. Thanks again!

(5 out of 5) Excellent!
by from SE, MI on

As a senior with arthritis in my hands, it's become painful to shoot 9mm. I've been waiting for an easy-to-rack, easy-to-shoot .380 with a higher capacity. I ordered this Ruger from SOSS and so far I love it! It's very easy to rack, has low recoil, and holds 15 rounds, and the fiber optic front sight against the black rear sight is very easy to get on target. Although I haven't had a chance to put as many rounds through it as I'd like, so far I've had zero problems. For the price, it can't be beaten!
