The Super Redhawk line of revolvers was first produced by Ruger in 1987. It was initially chambered for the beefy .44 Magnum cartridge, but models chambered for .454 Casull and .480 Ruger (specially made for the Super Redhawk) were released in 1997 and 2001 respectively. As the Super Redhawk is an update to the original Redhawk, their exterior designs are mostly the same. However, there are a few notable changes made to the internal components. The Redhawk's three coil springs behind its standing breech run parallel to the cylinder and barrel axis, while the Super Redhawk's biggest spring is centered on and runs parallel to the grip. They're chambered for different rounds, with the Ruger omitting a .357 Magnum option for the Super Redhawk. Finally, the grips of all Super Redhawks are Hogue Tamer Monogrips that mitigate felt recoil and improve gloved grip.
Its primary purpose is for personal defense. Its big-bore rounds are extremely effective at taking down threats in close quarters. However, any shooter will tell you that revolvers are just plain fun to shoot, making them perfect for days at the range.
Unfortunately, it's not that easy. All firearms must be shipped to someone with an FFL. We have to send your revolver to your local FFL dealer, where you can pick it up when it arrives.
