Not only is this piece beautiful, it does not disappoint at the range. As a woman, I feel very comfortable with the firearm.
Wife purchased more than a few years ago. It was kinda hard to rack the slide. Thought to ourselves that it just needed to be broken in. That was more than a few years ago. Truth is that it still is ridiculously harder to rack than any firearm we own, while having feeding issues to include stovepiping. AND KIMBER DOES NOT OFFER ANY REDUCED POWER SPRINGS. It comes default with a 23 lb mainspring, hammer spring, and 16 lb recoil spring. IF YOU’RE BUYING THIS GUN FOR SELF DEFENSE, BUY A CHEAPER GUN. PERIOD. FULL STOP. IF YOU’RE BUYING IT BECAUSE IT IS BEAUTIFUL, AND IT IS, THEN IT WON’T BE RELIABLE WITH PLINKER RANGE LOADS AND YOU MAY NOT FIND YOURSELF ENJOYING IT WHEN YOU DO TAKE IT OUT. Overall, it should never be used for self defense because of its price tag, unless you want it to sit in an evidence locker and can afford it to, and it isn’t a range gun for random plinks because of its spring weights. BUY IT IF YOU WANT TO HAVE A GUN SIT ON DISPLAY WALL. IT WILL DO THAT JOB JUST FINE.
