New for 2020, Taurus expands its noted G-Series line of polymer-frame, striker-fired pistols with the next-generation G3c compact 9mm.
In planning the newest model in the G - series of compact handguns, Taurus engineers were guided by two key objectives: retain and refine the key attributes which have made the G2c so popular with shooters and everyday carry practitioners while integrating new features designed to enhance overall performa nce, durability, and customization potential. The new G3c delivers on all fronts.
The G3c upgrades begin with the slide. The standard rear serrations are now accompanied by serrations at the front of the slide to provide a more tactile surface area for more positive grip. This makes slide manipulation and press checks easier regardless of operating style or hand size. A visual chamber indicator replaces the mechanical indicator found on the G2c, reducing parts and streamlining the slide profile.
To provide longer wear resistance and better corrosion protection from environmental conditions, the G3c slide is treated with a proven Tenifer finish. The Tenifer finish delivers more robust surface integrity to minimize scuffing and maximize corrosion resistance.
Standard on the G3c are all-steel front and rear sights (instead of the polymer sights included on the G2c) that are designed to withstand the rigors of daily carry. The rear sight is serrated to reduce glare and quicken sight picture acquisition, while drift adjustability allows the shooter to fine-tune the point-of-impact.
All these features continue with the new G3c model but with an added performance upgrade. Scallops are now included with G3c magazine extension. These are designed to assist in tactical magazine changes should dust or grit prevent the magazine from dropping freely when depressing the mag release.
Speaking of the magazines, the G3c comes standard with three 12-round magazines. 15 & 17 round magazines will also be available for customers who desire even higher capacity.
Used my Glock mag loader to load the magazines. Worked fine. Loved the sights. Trigger was good. Accuracy was great, which surprised me. Shot well, not snappy like my G19. No malfunctions out of a mixture of 150 rounds of FMJ and 2 different JHPs. Great value for the price.
I have the Taurus G3, G3C, and GX4, all great guns that have not given me any trouble, and I have put at least 500 rounds of various ammo, both old stock and new. The new G3C is a present for my brother because hes always borrowing it. And 3 mags in the box is a plus.
I've research this gun for months before pulling the trigger pun intended, and it did not disappoint! No run issues on the first 50 rounds... Would have been more but ammo is hard to come by tight now. If you want reliable but don't want to pay extra for a name, this gun is perfect.
I ordered this gun on 06/18/2020 and it arrived at my local FFL on 07/03/2020. I find time delivery time frame a bit long, however, I am aware that its not Sportsmans fault. I blame waiting process due to unusual high volume and Rona situation. We as consumers have to adjust during these times. Once shipped it arrived in two days to my local FFL. I am very impressed with the quality and the reasonable price for this gun. The grips is aggressive with rough-grit feel comparable to skateboard tape or sand paper. The gun comes with 3 magazines, and the feel of the gun resembles premium guns. The trigger is SA w/Re-strike capability. At first its a little odd but with practice you can adjust quickly. This is my first time buying a gun online. The process was easy and I will buy from Sportsman again. Thank You!
