(5 out of 5) First Taurus
by from Red Oak, TX on

This was my first Taurus purchase. I'd always heard good things, and for the price, I thought it was a bargain. But if you look at my rating for performance, it's a 2 right out of the box. I cleaned it, oiled it, and loaded it. The first time a cartridge went into the chamber, it jammed. I couldn't pull the slide back by hand; I had to take a dowel rod to the slide by the ejection port and tap it back. There were burrs on the throat of the barrel that grabbed the bullet. Well, Taurus was no help. It took over a week to get a response, and they gave me the runaround. Finally, I had a buddy gunsmith fix it for me. All it took was a little filing.

After I got it back, I loved it. Smooth action, fun to shoot. For the price, yes, I would buy it again.
