The 1911 Stakeout takes features from Tisas's popular Duty and Tank Commander models to give a touch of modern and military ruggedness. The sleek design is meant to be snag-free with the enhanced A1 style sights, A1 service safety and rounded spur hammer. Tisas added an extended beavertail grip safety to give shooter the ability to get a high grip and save them from hammer bite.
I haven’t fired it yet, but the finish is beautiful, and the 9mm barrel
has really good rifling. However, the .38 Super barrel is lightly
rifled—I estimate about 7 thousandths deep. The slide operates smoothly
and feels fairly tight. The magazines are good quality, and it has about
a 3-pound trigger pull. For $429.99, it’s a great deal. It also comes
with plastic baseplates for the magazines, four screws to attach them, a
breakdown tool for disassembly, a cleaning brush, and, of course, the
owner’s manual.
I love this gun. It came quickly and is super nice. I fed it FMJ and HP and couldn't get it to jam or fail. I used the stock mag for FMJ and my Wilson Combat mags for HP, then switched them and it did ok also. The 9mm mag it comes with is ok, but nowhere near as good as my 10-round Wilson Combat clip. Overall, I have put 600 rounds through it and not one problem yet. I haven't tried the 38 super yet but want to get a Wilson Combat clip for 38 super first. It came surprisingly accurate out of the box, better than my Colt actually, which is shocking for sure. Build quality is great as far as I can tell, and it's beautiful to look at. For the price, you can't go wrong. So far, it's as good as my Ruger and Smith 1911s as far as fit and function.
This 1911 arrived in absolutely pristine condition. It’s my first 1911 in 9mm and .38 Super, and my first from TISAS. The nickel finish was flawless on all treated parts. My first trip to the range was a total delight: the 9mm functioned perfectly with a variety of different weights and bullet designs, including FMJs and hollow points. The lockup is tight, and the trigger is wonderful. If I could give this a rating of 10, it would certainly deserve it! I’m 100% satisfied.
No disrespect meant, but since the .38 Super is shorter than a .38 Special, are you sure you loaded Supers? If the shell is too long, it will prevent the slide from going home.
Installed the 38 super barrel and the slide will not return all the way forward. Will dry fire without a miss, but will not fire once loaded. Poor quality. Very disappointed.
