The Tactical variation of the SP-01 employs an ambidextrous decocking mechanism instead of the manual safety found on the standard SP-01.
The CZ 75 SP-01 is the premiere full-size handgun (4.6” barrel) from CZ to incorporate the enhanced manufacturing technology and ergonomics of the NATO-endorsed CZ 75 Compact P-01 model. Highlighting an intrinsic 1913 accessory rail on the dust cover, rubberized grip panels, and CZ’s rust-resistant black polycoat finish, the SP-01 is the latest addition to the lineage of pistols derived from the CZ 75 (SA/DA) platform. Drawing from the improved grip design of the compact P-01, the SP-01 employs an elongated beavertail to safeguard the shooter’s dominant hand while enabling a deeper and more secure hold. The revamped grip design, texturing in pivotal areas on the front and back straps, and redistribution of weight facilitated by the accessory rail perceptibly diminish the perceived recoil compared to previous iterations and facilitate swifter target acquisition and transitions.
The SP-01 was conceived as a duty sidearm for military and law enforcement applications. The fresh iteration is presently deployed by security forces engaged in counterterrorism operations. Thanks to its outstanding precision and superior handling attributes, the CZ 75 SP-01 has garnered acclaim in the realm of competitive and recreational shooting. Noteworthy users in the competitive arena include World Champions Adam Tyc and Angus Hobdell (1st and 3rd place respectively in the 2005 IPSC championship, World Shoot XIV).
