Given the growing penchant for shooters to include micro red dots on their semi-autos—be it for personal defense, recreational shooting, or competition work—Taurus brings the G3 series pistols into the optic arena for 2021 with the release of the full-size G3 T.O.R.O. (Taurus Optic Ready Option)
The slides for the T.O.R.O. series feature a factory optic cut so that consumers can immediately add their choice of micro red dot without the expense of custom gunsmith work or "downtime" of their handgun. What's more, the T.O.R.O. system's design accommodates a broad range of popular optics on the market today, thanks to an ingenious interchangeable plate mounting system.
The G3 continues the proven polymer-frame profile now in a full-frame configuration, with generous stippling patches across the grip for maximum control and retention in any shooting condition, an ergonomic palm swell and side-frame Memory Pads that provide quick, positive hand positioning.
The frame has an integrated Picatinny rail. A manual safety and slide release lever are optimally positioned above the thumb for easy manipulation. A refined element of the G3 is the 6-lb. trigger, designed with a smooth take-up and a surprisingly crisp, clean break exceeding that of typical striker-fired pistol trigger performance. A short reset promotes quick, controlled follow-up shots.
This sighting system now includes a serrated steel rear sight along with a white dot steel front sight.
Optic not included.

Fast delivery. Good out of the box trigger, both the single action and double strike. Pretty good finish...it's not Amorlite, but ok. Good grip feel, a bit thin even though I have medium sized hands, but still ok. Sights are not great, but irrelevant as I put a Holosun RMR red dot sight on it. Price was great, and rebate will be icing on the proverbial cake.
Great price on G3 at this store. Shipping out of store is a bit slow 5 days, BUT if that is what it takes to keep prices down and you are OK to wait, it is worth it.
The first time I shot this gun - yesterday - the front site came off and at an outdoor range needless to say was gone.
Upon picking up my new G3 Toro optic ready I was immediately happy with the 17 round magazine that came as a bonus with the 15-round magazine. Of course before firing I feel its a good idea to do a field strip and just take a look at the inside make sure everything is in place and check for any markings from the factory firing test. I lubed up everything put her back together and used brass 124 grain Remington ammunition that I also found on outdoor Superstore.com at a pretty good price. But from the first time I fired that weapon I was impressed it would fire as fast as I can pull the trigger and the options to put basically any optic Red Dot sight or any attachment with a preliminary or Weaver rail it was a complete win-win for me. It is full size but still not too uncomfortable to conceal if thats what you prefer. But for a bargain gun that everyone tells me dont buy a Taurus I can happily tell everyone that said that that they what are so so wrong at least in my experience I am grateful that I made the purchase that became a bit of an investment because of how much I enjoy letting a few fly at the end of a long day.
